Maithon Gas
Turbine Station (MGTS) |

Maithon Gas Turbine Station was commissioned at
Maithon in 1989. The station has an
installed capacity of 82.5 MW with
three units each of 27.5 MW capacity.
The Gas Turbine Generator has been
designed to operate as single unit
system on intermittent cycle. These
are of simple axial flow type having
a single shaft connected to generator
with reduction gearbox. The gas turbine
is of self-contained modular form
having the inherent advantage of quick
start-up facility to meet system peak
demand under adverse system conditions
and also for black start after system
failure. High speed diesel is used
for starting and stopping the operation
while Naptha is used for running the
unit. |
