Forty eight hour rainfall forecast and seventy two hour rainfall outlook for entire Damodar valley region is provided by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Kolkata and is updated every 12 hour. Flood Forecasting Unit (FFU) at Maithon predicts the inflow into the reservoirs based on the real time data & the rainfall forecast of IMD.
